It’s a myth that an adult dog won’t bond with a new family.
Below are five great reasons to get an an adult dog according to AKC:
- They can hold it! Even if the dog is not housetrained, it’s usually a breeze to get her there because she has the physical maturity to “hold it” for several hours. Young puppies need to be taken out every two to three hours, not something most people who work can do.
- No puppy teeth! The adult dog is done with that – she is over the need to chew on you and everything in the house.
- Personality: You already know what her temperament is like.
- Size: You know how big the dog will be.
- Making a Dog Very Happy: You will make a deserving dog very happy. Don’t think you’re missing out on anything; there will be a little bit of puppy on the inside forever.

What we do with our parent dogs after they are retired from having puppies? Well, we place them in pet homes! If you are looking for an older, sweet dog then Annie just might be your girl. She has an exceptional temperament, very sweet and loving. She is a joyous and carefree companion. She is very mild mannered and easy going. She gets along well with both 2 and 4 legged friends. Having successfully completed her breeding years we would love for her to be your new friend. Annie gets along with everyone she meets two legs or four! She has a mild personality and is just the sweetest girl. Annie just turned five the end of August. She is 43 pounds, healthy, and is current on her rabies shot as well as heartworm and tick prevention. You CAN teach an old dog new tricks! We have rehomed retired dogs before and we have heard wonderful things from our families. They say they make wonderful pets and learn quickly! (But we knew that already!)

"She is doing really good. She is a sweetie. I can tell she thinks her crate is her safe place. She has been spayed and had a wellness check. They said she was healthy! She really likes to go on walks, and she loves giving hugs! She is getting along really well with my family's dogs. She loves getting in my suitcase before we travel. The last picture is of her and my parents dog that they got from you :)

Halle went to one of our Providence families. It was fun to see them again and know they will give her an amazing home!! So far they said she is doing amazing! They are from Texas and said she traveled home perfectly! If you are interested in not starting completely over, give us a call about one of our other grown dogs.
